Printed Circuit Board(PCB) Material Types and Comparison

1. FR-4 A1 Copper Clad Laminate

This is mainly used in military, communications, computers, digital circuits, industrial instruments, automotive circuits and other electronic products. The quality of this series of products has completely reached the world first-class level.

2. FR-4 A2 Copper Clad Laminate

This is mainly used for general computers, instruments, advanced household appliances and general electronic products. This series of copper clad laminates are widely used, and all performance indexes can meet the needs of general industrial electronic products. There is a good price performance ratio. It can effectively improve the price competitiveness of the products.

3. FR-4 A3 Class Copper Clad Laminate  

This Class Copper Clad Laminate is a FR-4 product specially developed and manufactured for home appliance industry, computer peripheral products and general electronic products (such as toys, calculators, game consoles, etc.). Its characteristic is that the price is highly competitive under the condition that the performance meets the requirements.

4, FR-4 AB grade Copper Clad Plate

This grade plate is low-grade product. However, the performance indicators can still meet the needs of ordinary household appliances, computers and general electronic products, its price is the most competitive, the performance-price ratio is also very good.

5. The FR-4B clad copper plate

This grade is second grade plate. The quality stability is poor, and it is not suitable for large area PCB products. Generally, it is suitable for the size of 100mm X200mm products. It is the most inexpensive, but the customer should pay attention to the choice of use.

6. CEM-3 Series Copper Clad Laminates

This kind of products have three kinds of base material colors, namely white, black and natural colors. Mainly used in the computer, LED industry, clocks and watches, general household appliances products and ordinary electronic products (such as VCD, DVD, toys, games, etc.). Its main feature is good perforation performance, suitable for a large number of PCB products which need stamping process. This series of products have A1, A2, A3 three quality grades of products.

7. Clock and watch special black base color copper clad laminate

It has three quality grades: A1, A2, A3. There are two types of copper clad plates with FR-4 and G10 types. Its thickness, blackness, solubility and other quality indexes fully meet the requirements of the clock products. Among them, A1 series of such sheets have reached the world first-class level in quality, and many foreign advanced quartz watches choose this series of sheets. The product quality of the A3 level reaches the standard of the ordinary watch and clock, and the price is the most competitive.

8. Multilayer PCB Board Materials

There are several kinds of multi-layer materials: 1) semi-cured sheets (1080, 2116, 7628, etc.), 2) copper foil (0.5 OZ, 1.0 OZ, 1.5 OZ, 2.0 OZ, 3OZ, etc.), 3) off-form film, 4) laminated kraft paper.
